Missouri Valley Board of Directors Meeting in KC, MO on March 4th, 2010
Dear Members,
I had the privilege to attend the MO Valley Board of Directors meeting in KCMO on March 4th. The State was well represented with the following members present; MVD 2nd Vice President Chief Greg Pottberg, MVD State Director and MO Chiefs Secretary John VanGorkom, IAFC International Director Chief Richard Carrizzo, and MO Chiefs Immediate Past President Chief David Williams.
State Reports; the theme around the table was state financial worries and residential sprinkler issues with the HBA attempting blocks in legislation at the state level.
2010 MVD Conference; Colorado Springs, CO, July 7-9, Crown Plaza, a brochure should arrive in late March.
Mentoring Program; available on the MO Valley website.
Constitution and By Laws; a draft was presented. A formal draft will be posted in advance of the conference at Colorado Springs, for a final vote at the conference.
GPO; consider utilizing the GPO for purchases, information available on MO Valley website.
FRI; Chicago IL, August 23-28, MO Valley Division Hotel, Sheraton, register early, luncheon sponsored by Global Traffic Technologies.
2009 Final Budget Report; Bank Balance $57,504.80, CD’s $75,470.70, Total Assets $132,975.50
2010 Proposed Budget Report; Proposed expenses $43,540
MVD State Directors; all state directors terms are up, three terms, selection at the conference. (Please get with MO Chiefs Executive Board with any nomination considerations).
MVD IFCC Positions; there are 4 Code Action Committee Member positions and 1 IFCC Council Member position open. (Please get with MO Chiefs MVD State Director John VanGorkom with nomination considerations).
MVD Strategic Plan 2010-2011; revised
MVD Stipend Program; Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa received stipends to assist with state conference.
CFSI; Washington DC, April 28 & 29th, need attendees.
Election Committee; Chief Mark Bradford (Kansas) reappointed.
Fire Link Newsletter; need articles from State Directors.
